ArcGIS Data Appliance delivers maps and tasks optimized for publishing with ArcGIS Server on a preconfigured network storage device that connects to your existing network. Most of the map and task services available through ArcGIS Online are available on ArcGIS Data Appliance.
[edit] With ArcGIS Data Appliance you can:
- Publish your own map services quickly and securely over a private network or the Internet without having to process or prepare large and varied datasets.
- Add user tasks from your own secure, private servers and fuse them with content from ArcGIS Data Appliance for visualization and analysis.
- Leverage your existing operational data by combining it with content from ArcGIS Data Appliance and sharing it with others in your organization.
- Find and display addresses and generate routes and driving directions.
[edit] Data Appliance 4.0
The on-premises content on the ArcGIS Data Appliance 4.0 includes terabytes of cartographically-rendered map cache services at multiple scales, cached and ready-to-use with ArcGIS Server on your internal network. Task-based services, such as a worldwide place finder and geocoding and routing, are also available.[1]
