Graduated Symbols

Graduated symbols are map symbols that are vary in size to show their relative quantitative values. An impoprtant distinction to make is that graduated symbols are used to compare relative values, where proportional symbols are used to compare absolute values. In the map below, dot symbols of varying size show relatiove values of a given attribute for each polygon.
