A redirect is a wiki page created to change the course of the navigation from the given title to a different wiki page. A redirect is created using the following syntax:

#REDIRECT [[ page ]] where page is the name of the target page or the page being navigated to. It is also possible to anchor the redirect to a particular section of the target wiki page.

To create a redirect page, begin the page with the #REDIRECT text followed by a valid wikilink or interwikilink. (For standardization, a space is usually placed before the link.)

Examples:

• #REDIRECT [[ ArcGIS ]] (redirects to the ArcGIS wiki page)
• #REDIRECT [[ ArcGIS#Product history ]] (redirects to the “Product history” section of the ArcGIS wiki page)

Any text left after the redirect link will be ignored in the display, by may be used to add categories, comments, discussions, etc.
