Dr. John Patrick Harty (Ph.D., Kansas State University) is a geographer based in Laramie, Wyoming. He is considered one of the foremost authorities on the legend of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. Currently, he teaches cultural geography at the University of Wyoming.
