This statement is in error: The Dymaxion Map is 'the only flat map of the entire surface of the earth that reveals virtually contiguous continents as an island in one ocean, without any visible distortion of the relative shapes and sizes of the land areas. [emph added]

The Dymaxion is not the only map of these characteristics, neither is it the first, or even the best. That honour and distinction goes to B.J.S.Cahill's Octahedral Butterfly World Map, first published in 1909. For more info see this detailed series of articles by Prof. Gene Keyes,Political Science Department, York University, Toronto: http://www.genekeyes.com/FULLER/BF-1-intro.html.

I changed "only" to "most well known" and added link to Keye's critique under more information. I lack the time to fold this info properly into the main article. Hopefully someone else will.
